From Thursday 25th May – Sunday 28th May Jeremy Butterfield and Ollie Ward will #DOIT4JAMES&DAVE. It’s been 2 years since their best friend James Hindmarsh sadly lost his battle with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS). During his various types of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, James fought so hard and showed extreme mental resilience. This is something that Ollie and Jeremy want to live up to and carry forward in their lives and in each fundraiser they partake in. In December 2021, David Brown devastatingly lost his battle with Covid-19. Ollie and Jeremy describe Dave as the most thoughtful, caring, gentle and humble human who did so much for children and teenagers across the district.
Half of the money raised will be donated to Sarcoma UK, a charity very close to James and his family’s hearts. Sarcoma UK’s mission is to ensure everyone affected by sarcoma receives the best treatment, care, information and support available and to create the treatments of the future
Half of the money raised will also be donated to The David Brown Foundation set up in memory of Dave to continue the work he devoted his life to. The foundation helps clear the obstacles that some people are faced with throughout their educational career and beyond.
Both James and Dave never gave up in their fights and Ollie and Jeremy are continuing their legacies to help others fight the challenges they are facing.
