Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in West Yorkshire can now get financial support towards net zero consultancy fees with Flotilla, thanks to a brand-new partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The offer is part of West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Business Sustainability Support (BSS) service, which offers SMEs a range of free services to help businesses measure, plan and act on improving their sustainability. This includes:
- Measuring your current environmental footprint.
- Developing a plan to look at ways to reduce that impact.
- Consultancy support in implementing a sustainable strategy, including Carbon Reduction Plans and longer terms net zero strategies.
What’s on offer?
A successful application can provide 50% of the support value up to £5,000. Possible projects include:
- Conducting detailed carbon footprint assessments
- Branded Carbon Reduction Plan
- Development of a net zero strategy
- Implementing environmental management systems to help prepare for ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 accreditation.
- Working towards becoming a certified B Corp.
- Performing waste audits
- Establishing sustainable procurement policies.
- Access to verified partners, including climate and nature contribution schemes
Who can apply?
To receive funding, your business will need to meet the following criteria:
- Geographical area: Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield.
- SMEs with up to 115 employees
- Annual turnover of under £50m or a balance sheet of under £43m
- Not part of a larger group of companies that takes it over these thresholds (group employee numbers cannot be above 250)
- Not received more Minimum Financial Assistance than £273,000 through public funding in the last three fiscal years.
